Regardless, I love spring. We have the prettiest pink flowering bush outside our front door. It smells like hyacinth. Makes me smile every time I catch a whiff. Stiff green shoots of lilies, tulips and daffodils have been poking up for a few weeks, and the trees have tight little red or green buds on their branches. Birds are living it up in our neighborhood. They start singing around 5am and don't let up for hours.
People walk their dogs, ride bikes, jog, skateboard, roller blade, play basketball and anything they can to escape their houses. I love living in such an active area.
Another sign of spring? The ice cream shops open. We are blessed with a local ice cream joint just around the corner. Yum! I kind of want a cone right now... Maybe after I write this post. :)
Spring also ushers in new sports' seasons for my kids. We'll be cheering at baseball games and track meets for the next couple of months. Sure, it gets busy, but we love it.
As if that weren't enough, my third romance novel just released through Harlequin Love Inspired! Her Small-Town Romance takes place in fictional Lake Endwell, Michigan, during late spring/early summer.
Here's the back cover copy of the book:
Finding Her Way Home
Cozy Lake Endwell, Michigan, seems the perfect place for Jade Emerson's new T-shirt shop—and perhaps a fresh start. After a lifetime of letdowns, she is finally ready to face the future on her own. So when local wilderness guide Bryan Sheffield offers to help Jade overcome a past trauma, she warns him they will remain strictly business. But soon, with the help of Bryan's big, complicated family and a boisterous St. Bernard named Teeny, Jade's frozen heart begins to thaw. Now Jade wonders if she can return the favor, bringing a little happiness to a man who has long kept his own sorrow under wraps…

As you can see, I'm a fan of giving winter the heave-ho! Let the sunshine and warm weather begin!
What is spring like where you live? What's your favorite part about spring?
Have a wonderful weekend!!
