Friday Fun – My Favorite Christmas Shows

Pink Heart Society regular Jennifer Faye is talking all about those wonderful Christmas shows...

Who loves Christmas movies?

*raises both hands high* :-)

This is the time of the year when I dust off my growing collection of holiday dvd’s and slip them in the player while I’m busy with holiday activities from wrapping gifts to trimming the tree or eating buttered popcorn while it snows outside. ;-)

It’s a tradition in our house that we buy at least one new holiday movie a year. But that’s not to say that the oldies don’t still delight us.

Favorite Christmas movie of all time – WHITE CHRISTMAS

Happy sigh. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched this movie. When I was a kid, they played it over and over on television. And now I'm happy to have it on dvd, knowing I can listen to Bing Crosby as often as I like. :-)

Favorite fun holiday movie – Home Alone 2

I don’t know why this particular movie is my favorite. Don’t get me wrong I enjoy Home Alone 1 too, but I think it’s the hustle and bustle of New York City at Christmastime that gets me every time. I’ve been watching this movie every year with my kids. I never grow tired of it.

Favorite new holiday movie – Nine Lives of Christmas

Now I have to admit that I haven’t personally had time to watch this one yet, but the girls have and they gave it two thumbs up. That’s good enough for me. I’m anxious to watch it. I’m hoping to do it this weekend.

Favorite Royal Christmas movie ;-) - A Princess for Christmas

What can I say? I love princes, Christmas and romance. *happy sigh* Might have something to do with my latest release. ;-) Then again...this is a great movie. :-)

Favorite Christmas Claymation – The Year Without A Santa Claus

Do I even have to explain my love for this show? I mean there’s Mr. Heatmiser and his fabulous hairdo. And then there’s Mr. Snowmiser, who has his own do going on. Together they crack me up. Yes, I’m an overgrown kid. ;-)

Favorite Cartoon – Frosty

What can I say? Frost was my first love and I remember as a little girl, crying when he started to melt. Since then I’ve started my own snowman collection, which included an animated Frosty who sits on my end table each Christmas and waves his top hat at everyone. :)

I wish you and yours the very merriest of holidays and lots of books in your stockings! J

Now it’s your turn, what’s your favorite holiday show?

Just in time to get you in the holiday spirit, Jennifer's new release, A PRINCESS BY CHRISTMAS, is available now!

A royal kiss under the mistletoe...

Prince Alexandro Castanovo arrives in snowy New York intent on protecting his royal family from scandal. And when Reese Harding—down-to-earth and heart-stoppingly beautiful—finds room for him at her inn, it seems like the perfect twist of fate.

Not long ago Reese's world came crumbling down, shaking her foundations. But this enigmatic stranger intrigues her! She's learned to be wary of secrets…but when she discovers Alex's true identity, might there be enough magic in the air to make this regular American girl a princess by Christmas…?

  1. I love Miracle on 34th Street, but my favourite is Love Actually. As I wrote recently on the Harlequin Community pages the other day, I sat down to watch it with my 14 yr old daughter for the first time, thinking she'd love it, COMPLETELY FORGETTING about the couple that meet as stand-ins for the porno movie! Eek! So embarrassing!

    1. LOL. So sorry about the embarrassing moment. I can totally relate when I sat down to watch it with my girls. Totally spaced that story line. *head desk*

  2. My favorite movie is "Miracle on 34th Street," and my favorite special is "How the Grinch Stole Christmas." Happy Holidays!!

    1. I have both of those movies including the cartoon and full-length movie of the Grinch. I really enjoyed the Jim Carrey version. ;-)
