Male On Monday: Don't forget that dream plus giveaway

Blaze Author Kathy Lyons, who also writes as Jade Lee, reminds us the important part of being inspired by any hero material. Her latest is up for grabs.
Model Alexis Papas
Sometimes I feel like I have HALF-zeimers. You know how this works. It goes way beyond misplacing your keys or searching for that shirt that you know you washed. That’s the normal part of life that would be way better if I were just a little bit–okay, maybe a lot–more organized. No, I’m referring to having that word right there, but not coming out of my mouth. To knowing someone’s face and character, but not quite remembering from where. Don’t get me wrong. I’m fully functional (or as functional as I ever get!) and it’s nothing compared to what a true Alzeimer’s patient or their family suffers. I just often feel like there’s something I’ve just got to remember, but can’t.
I hate that! And right there was the inspiration for my hero, Lt. Jason White. When I forget something, I spend an extra fifteen minutes looking for my keys or have to wear a different shirt. When Jason forgets, lives are lost. And since Jason is a type A personality like me, this drives him absolutely bonkers.
Tom Hardy as Heathcliff

Now we get to the sexy part of the book. Yeah, the inspiration for the other part was a...well...a dream about a certain hot actor. Enough said. But what if that hot dream featured the very hot guy next door? And it turns out that the two of you are sharing erotic dreams. You can’t actually tell the guy next door that you’re dreaming about him. In fact, it takes half the book before they realize they’re having the same erotic dreams.
Oh my God was it fun to write! I got to create all sorts of steamy vignettes throughout the book, and yes, my nighttime dreams have never been the same! The core of the story, of course, is helping Jason get over his trauma and remember what he needs to. That’s a delicate process, especially when he gets smacked in the face by the woo woo weirdness of shared dreams. Military types aren’t prone to accepting the woo woo. And throughout it all, they get to share night after night of sexy stuff that all–ultimately–has a purpose.
So now it’s your turn. What have you forgotten lately that drives you nuts! Or if you like, who do you dream about?

One lucky commentor will get a copy of Night After Night... by Kathy Lyons. Or if you prefer, you can have an advanced copy of Jade Lee’s Wedded in Scandal, available March 8.

  2. I lose slips of paper constantly, put the milk container in the cupboard and wonder why I can't find it in the fridge, I couldn't find my black tensor bandage in my black backpack outside pocket until the fourth time looking last week, I dial my cell number to find my cell phone (praying it is turned on), and the list goes on and on. Welcome to my world.
As for those erotic dreams, yowsers!
My dreams? When I was a teenager, I used to dream that I was a patient on the television show, Medical Center, and that Dr. Joe Gannon (Chad Everett) was my doctor. Oooooooh, I just got goose pimples remembering! Then I started reading romances, so I dreamt (and have continued dreaming) that I am the heroine in the story. Ahhhh, now those are sweet dreams!

  4. More often than I'd like, I walk into a room to pick up something and forget what it was I wanted. Irritating! Usually as soon as I walk away I remember what it was I was after, but sometimes I do worry that I'm heading for early onset. On the plus side, I planted all sorts of bulbs last fall and promptly forgot what & where . . . now that spring has arrived I'm enjoying watching them all bloom - a new surprise every day. Night After Night sounds like a lot of fun! Cheers, Louise
