Fill The Well Friday :: An Attitude of Gratitude

Sometimes life decides to get interesting, and not in the fun run away to the Bahamas with Channing Tatum kind of way. It's easy to get caught up in the swirl, but The Pink Heart Society editor Jenna Bayley-Burke is trying a new method that changes her mood, and might improve yours too.

Blah. Blah. Blah. Make a list, only to find it twice as long at the end of the day than it was in the beginning. There's no time to be sick, to manage to get the kids to rehearsal and taikwondo and scouts at the same time, to get words on the page, to do a million things.

So I stole five minutes. Committed to an entire five minutes to just put down what is going right. My challenge to you on this Fill The Well Friday. Take five minutes. What are you grateful for?

  1. My family - dang, they are cute
  2. Good healthcare
  3. Television - it's a calming background voice, and the ideal escape since it wants nothing back in return
  4. Hot tea - the way it warms my chilled fingers and soothes a worried soul
  5. Ice cream - with lots of tippings and mix ins. Yum
  6. Tiffany lamps - stained glass is lovely
  7. Zumba - doesn't even feel like working out
  8. Saunas
  9. The sound of rain
  10. Pedicures - I am a firm believer in toe color
  11. Nail polish strips - I actually have nails now
  12. Movie night
  13. Bubbles
  14. Slipper shoes
  15. Remote controls
  16. Fresh white towels
  17. Walking on sand
  18. Pretty dresses
  19. Boots
  20. Seashells
  21. Fortune Cookies
  22. Challah
  23. Hanukkah
  24. Stretching
  25. Netflix - odd, since I'm not a subscriber
  26. Family game night
  27. Not coming in last on Mario Cart
  28. Waterfalls
  29. The sound of snow falling
  30. Ring around the rosie
  31. Cannonball!

See? I feel better already. Do it....even if you only have a minute to list ten things. Give it a shot. The only thing you have to lose is a crummy mood.

Check in with Jenna Bayley-Burke the second Friday of each month to see what she's doing to Fill The Well. Jenna's latest release, For Kicks, hit ereaders everywhere last week.

For Kicks is as decadent as a chocolate layer cake, as bubbly as a flute of champagne and as exhilarating as a roller-coaster ride. Bayley-Burke writes blood- pumping contemporary romance that will leave readers energized.” 4 1/2 stars, Romantic Times

  1. Jenna, considering how your year has been going, this just makes me love you more.

Sending BIG, squishy hugs. You rock.

  2. Gratitude is a sort of lifestyle decision which benefits us immensely. It makes life taste a lot sweeter.
