Marilyn's Review Roundup

Friday for me was like Friday the 13th until I entered the local Barnes and Noble for my morning coffee and book shopping before work.  I thought, what could possibly cheer me up? Then I saw the Harlequin display and that made me smile.  There  were some of my favorite authors covers were smiling up at me.  Some I had ready read as Mills and Boon and others had recently been sent to me which I had the opportunity to read this past week and now they wait for me to review.

Women fall over themselves to say yes to anything Angelo van Zaal wants—so he's shocked when proud redhead Flora Bennett says no to his plans!

Flora is determined to adopt her baby niece, despite Angelo's assumption that he will have guardianship. And, though he's annoyed with himself for wanting her, Flora annoys Angelo even more for avoiding the shimmer of sexual attraction between them. There has to be a way to make Flora obey all his wishes, and there is—but it involves an unexpected pregnancy and three more babies….  Review
Congratulations to Lynne Graham for making the USA Today Bestselling list with this book!  Here is Lynne's "news".

Lucas Vieira needs a translator to seal a high-profile business deal, and also a woman to pose as his girlfriend to fend off a colleague's overeager wife—so why not kill two birds with one stone?

Linguist Caroline Hamilton jumps at the chance to earn some decent money. But when she meets her client, she realizes she may be out of her league. The powerful Brazilian seems to be interested in more than just her brains….

Is the price of this passion too high?
In the style we know and love, Sandra Marton has created one incredible romance.   Lucas needs two things, a woman to pose as his girlfriend and act as a Russian interpreter.  What he doesn't bargain for is this woman ties him in knots.  And he makes a huge mistake when he thinks she's also earning her living as a high classed call girl!  I still have the review to write this weekend, hopefully.

Congratulations Sandra Marton for making the USA Today Bestselling List with Not for Sale!  What's new for Sandra?  Well if you've not read this series, you certainly will want to to put it on your Wish List.

An IVF clinic mix-up means eternally single Alison Whitman is now carrying the child—no, the royal heir—of Maximo Rossi, Prince of Turan!

Maximo had given up on the hope of fatherhood a long time ago—until this surprise second chance. Now, the dynamic ruler will seize this opportunity with both hands. However, tradition is high on the prince's agenda and he'll never stand for an heir born out of wedlock….

Alison is about to find out that royal marriage is a command, not a choice!  Review
I also read this as a Mills and Boon, thanks to Maisey Yates.  This book made the USA Today Bestselling list this past week!  Congratulations to a very deserving author.

Maisey wrote this short story for a magazine and decided to share it on her website.

Francesca D'Oro was just eighteen when darkly sexy Marcos Navarre swept her up the aisle—then fled before the ink on the marriage license had dried. Marcos might have given Francesca a jewel for her finger, but he stole another: the Devil's Heart, a dazzling yellow diamond he believed belonged to his family….

Years later, Francesca, no longer so youthfully naive, is determined to reclaim the precious gem! But she's forgotten that Marcos lives up to the treasure's name—and dealing with the devil is always dangerous!
The Devil's Heart stole my  breath away.  Both the hero and heroine had suffered so much tragedy & shared a past.  However, what was more important the jewels or their happiness?  Just a beautifully crafted romance by the very talented Lynn Raye Harris.  My review will be posted here next week.

The Devil's Heart was an incredible piece of jewelry that two families foughty over and almost destroyed ripped apart the hero and heroine.  See Lynn Raye's post at I(Heart)Presents.

Marina thought her dreams had come true when her husband placed a wedding band on her finger. But their marriage was not the fairy tale she'd hoped for, and eventually Marina walked away, her heart broken.

Two years later Pietro D'Inzeo no longer haunts Marina's dreams. She knows the time has come to move on, and even a summons to join him in Sicily won't deter her….

However, with his wife standing before him, about to sign on the dotted line of their divorce papers, Pietro wonders why he ever let her go.

Author Kate Walker's writing still from her very first book I read had me hooked!  The Proud Wife is the perfect romance reuniting a still married couple after 3 years of separation.  It's not for the faint at heart and I promise you'll need tissues and lots of chocolate when you read this marvelous romance!  Review

Kate has a contest at Author Sound Relations I hope you'll check out!

Millionaire entrepreneur Ryan King is mortified: he's just been pulled from the ocean by a pretty female lifeguard! Why, after months recovering from a horrific motorbike accident, did he get back on his surfboard? For the same reason he wants a hot, wild woman back in his bed—to prove he's the same man he was before….
Lifeguard Maddy is shocked to find that this half-drowned, totally gorgeous surfer has her body humming! She always ends up getting used—maybe this time it's her turn to do the using. It's the short, sizzling affair they both need—until their dangerously addictive liaison careers out of control….  Review
As the cover states "One Hot Fling" and that doesn't even describe it.  Even the ocean can't cool down this couple!  Again, Heidi Rice has outdone herself.  In fact, in the UK in May, her sexy brother Callum will appear in Cupcakes and Killer Heels!  Here's some additional info from the author

A fling with sinfully hot champion snowboarder Jack Greene isn't Kelsi Reid's normal behavior…but one glimpse of his wicked eyes has Kelsi throwing caution to the deep blue sea (along with her clothes!). After all, who better to go crazy with than a man who deserves a gold medal for his prowess on the slopes and in the bedroom…?

Then Kelsi crashes down with a terrifying bump—of the baby kind. They couldn't be worse matched—Jack is Mr. Right-Now, while Kelsi craves stability. But it's hard to keep your feet on the ground once you've met the man who turns your world upside down….  Review

As the description says, Kelsi's life was turned upside down and Natalie Anderson has a real winner with Walk on the Wild Side.  Their love making scene on a beach (blushing) had my heart racing, and then some!

What's new with Natalie?  Here's her latest news.

Tomas Mendoza left the city behind when he retreated to a rustic Argentine ranching guesthouse after losing his fianc√©e. He has found peace working the land…until socialite Sophia Hollingsworth plants her stilettos in front of him and demands to stay the week.
Sophia is nursing private hurts of her own—after all, she is on her honeymoon…alone. Her bravado is a cover act to show everyone she can stand on her own two feet. Trouble is, she's in danger of being swept away into the rancher's arms!  Review  Honeymoon with the Rancher is out on the shelves in May.
Here's Donna's recent post at Tote Bags 'n Blogs

Now can you see why the display made me smile and forget my bad start of the day?

I'm looking forward to hearing about the winners of this years Romance Times Reviewer Choice Awards.  Until next Sunday, happy reading and writing!  Drum is a list of the winners!
