No Temptation Tuesday :: PHS Diet Club

We’ve been dieting…and dealing…since the first of the year. For many of the Pink Hearter’s, June is the last month before a big event – the Romance Writers of America annual conference.

In Dallas, Texas. In July. If the conference were in Wyoming in winter, we could layer up, but with the heat, we’ll have to show who we really are. So, in this last moth, let’s pool our best last minute tips and tricks to be gorgeous and healthy for conference!

Drink like a fish! Guzzle water like it is going out of style. It clears the skin and banishes the bloat.

Color outside the lines! I’m not a fan of tanning, but if you are, have at it. I’m a spray tan or a tinted moisturizer girl. That healthy glow helps enhance the curves!

Rev up your metabolism! Add a strength training workout to your routine to build muscle…which in turn burns calories. You don’t need to have time for it forever, just for the next few weeks exercise 4-5 days a week instead of 3-4. Unless of course you are wearing a cast and can’t. Ahem.

Snooze to lose! Now is not the time to cut back on your sleep (cough, Trish Wylie, cough) Sleep deprivation causes weight gain, no joke. Take care of yourself and plan to sleep!

Think high fiber! Keep things moving. ‘Nuff said!

Avoid puffer foods! You know, the ones that puff out your stomach. Everyone is different. For some it is dairy, others beans, whichever, give yourself a break this month!

Those are my tips…what are yours??

Jenna is hard at work on her next title for Mills & Boon Modern Extra.

In the meantime, check out her website, blog, or reading group, We Call It Research.

  1. Thanks for the tips, Jenna! It's amazing how quickly National is coming up... You're right that Dallas will be sweltering, but fortunately, the hotel will likely be about 60 degrees. Hopefully that will help excuse my parka if I don't lose the weight!

  2. A pic of Will!! *g* Thanks for that Jenna :)

My best tip? Have fruit for breakfast. I've got a couple of those Dole oranges in containers in the fridge. Nothing like a little mini cup of icy oranges on a hot morning or in the afternoon for a snack.
